Published by
Reigning Olympic shot put gold medalist and American record holder Michelle Carter returned to the 60th annual Golden West Invitational at Oak Ridge High in El Dorado Hills, Calif., to not only be a mentor for younger athletes in throwing clinics, but also to celebrate her father Michael Carter's national high school shot put record of 81-3.50 (24.77m) that was set June 16, 1979 at the Golden West meet at Sacramento State. Michelle Carter also still holds the girls shot put meet record of 53 feet (16.15m) from 2002 when she represented Red Oak High from Texas. More videos |
